London implements the world’s first Ultra Low Emission Zone

London's Mayor Sadiq Khan has implemented the world's first Ultra Low Emission Zone in an effort to improve air quality in the city.

The ULEZ will operate 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week and aim to reduce the number of diesel-powered vehicles entering the centre. Cars, vans, and motorbikes that don’t meet standards will need to pay £12.50 a day ($16.30), while lorries, buses, and coaches will be charged £100 a day ($130.43) upon entering the zone.
